Not the best camouflage net in the world. More like a fishing net. But it did cut down a bit on the sun. The good part is the WP on the position. Wonder what the burn index is for today?
The RQMS building where everyone seems to gather! That could be Warrant Officer? Bill Amos and Sergeant Leon Jensen (blue t-shirt) with their backs to the camera. Beside them are Master Warrant Officer Eric Tyldesley-Gore and the Regimental Sergeant Major, Chief Warrant Officer Brian Cormier.
Master Warrant Officer George Wood returning from the ammunition run. Private Pixie Mouatt watching him go through his unload drill with the 9mm pistol. Not sure what the Teddy Bear is about.....The Teddy Bear must be an acceptable add on to the wearing of Combat Clothing. It doesn't appear that the RSM Chief Warrant Officer Brian Cormier has an issue with it.
There's work to be done by the signallers during gun maintenance. Cam nets to be repaired, C42 radios to be cleaned, sigs pads and communication logs to be updated. Sergeant Leon Jensen, Battery Pronto, leads his radio operators in the fine art of cam net weaving (kinda like basket weaving!) Private Thibault, Private Diane Grant, Private Dawne Belcher, Corporal Jackie Revell. (Gender integration for women into Combat Arms was still 14 years away - ed.)
Have to keep tuned to Range Control frequency for the inevitable check firing as some special activity takes place on or near the impact area. In this case it's a Chinook deploying an M 102 105mm howitzer.
The Commanding Officer, Lieutenant-Colonel Bill Wickett, and his Second in Command, Major Vic Stevenson, posing with their American Jeep.

Enough with the Teddy Bear already!! Now we have Sergeant Leon Jensen carrying the Bear around. At least he's got a can of Olympia in the other hand. Must be on the way to the smoker! Probably just returning the bear to its rightful owner.... The advantages of having a Regimental Band includes excellent entertainment during training event Smokers! John Wright, Joe Phelan, 24, 25, Richard Van Slyke performing.
Another two regimental musicians 27, 28. Meanwhile, the Battery personnel regale each other with tales of adventure from the weekend. Here's Doug Johnston and Don Booth
Toni Davis and Diane Grant,
Vivian Hughes, 34, and Second Lieutenant Leo Kung.
Gunner Tylee sits with Private Pixie Mouatt while Pixie shares a beer with her bear.
Not sure who that is behind the lens but we do have Second Lieutenant Leo Kung, 40, Diane Grant, 42, Don Booth, Mike Meehan sharing more tales.

A few beers always seem to draw out the wanna be athletes. Throw in a football and now we get to test out the eye/hand coordination. A somewhat faded photo of 45 followed by our camera guy shooting over Bill Loiselle's shoulder
A missed catch by Claude Elezam from Brian Harmon followed by a missed catch by Don Friedsam.
Not too sure who the kicker is but it appears to be Will Hanks snapping the ball to 51.
Another unidentified kicker 52 followed by a great over the shoulder catch by 53.
The competition heats up and we have a wrestle for the ball between 54 and 55 with Diane Grant looking on. And another kick goes down range 57.
Hugo Palle gets ready for the long pass to Sevan Ashikian.
Another unidentified gunner 60 wrestles with Gunner Will Hanks for possession of the ball. Gunner Hugo Palle follows the action downfield with Private Diane Grant.
A final wrestle between Private Diane Grant and Gunner Sevan Ashikian. Sigh..... First there was the Teddy Bear and now we have the RQMS with Mickey Mouse ears! Good thing he's not wearing any rank so we can't positively identify him.
The venerable 1952 manufactured deuce and a half. Automatic transmission. They were great! Mind you it was an awful long ride back to Vancouver in the back of the trucks. Here's Private Nancy Olson and Corporal Darlene Willing ready for the long convoy.

And here's the smoker photo. At least there was no Teddy Bear! There are some blank names in the photo though. Please send them to LeonJ1@hotmail.com
