The following photos were donated by Brigadier Theodore Dumoulin labelled as being from Camp Hughes in 1932. unfortunately we have some of the same photos donated by Major Ted Edmonds labelled as Camp Hughes 1934. Which is correct?
Just uploaded seven pictures from 31 Battery at Sarcee Camp with 18 pounders in 1923. Check them out here.
Another series of photos from the Black Bear series of exercises with GATES (German Army Training Establishment Shilo. This series seems focused on Sergeant Dave Warner's detachment with Gunner Darren Kostinuk as #2. Can you identify some other faces in the photos on this page.
A new series of photos have been placed in the 1982 Shilo page. The date is not clearly indicated in the Accession Book. We do have a significant event in that an unknown Sergeant is being covered in shaving cream at the airport. Do I have the year wrong? Is this 1983 and a certain Sergeant is going Regular Force and this is his send off?
A new document, Historic Artillery In British Columbia, has just been uploaded to our reference page. Produced in 2007 by Fort Rodd Hill, the document is missing a few of the guns in BC but still an interesting read. Find it on our reference page here.
Additional photos have been placed on the Wainwright 1966 page. Unfortunately we seem to have some disagreement on the collection of photos. In one series the Gunners are all wearing coveralls and in this latest series they are wearing bush dress. Was it wash day and the Gunners were issued coveralls just for the day while the Bush was being washed? Was there anyone out there that was a participant in this exercise and can shed some light on the uniform issue?
This may be the first ever exercise held by the 15th Field Regiment at Fort Lewis. I'm sure that more details will be forthcoming as some of you check out your albums at home. I'm always looking for stories! The photos are all published on this page. These three photos are rather interesting as they show a bit of a humorous side to the event.
