Aliens take over Bessborough Armoury! Actually it's a television series production shoot that's rented the Armoury as the background for an alien science laboratory. The producers are only allowed to use the building if there is none other in the city that meets with their requirement. The building may not be in competition with other commercial ventures. They pay full costs for the use of the building based on government collections which is usually lower than commercial establishments. The Commanding Officer provides other facilities such as the Messes that allows the production company to spend to their full budget with payments other than to the Receiver General. Check out the other photos in the 2000 Yearbook.
Remembrance Day CFL - Salute to the Veterans
The guns were deployed to BC Place as part of the half time show. They were not fired due to safety concerns. Would they have collapsed the dome? Check out the other pictures in the 1992 Yearbook. Exercise Temperate Forest
In April 2006, 15th and 5th(BC) Field Artillery Regiments were in Fort Lewis for live fire artillery training and fighting in built up areas (FIBUA). I have the photographs posted here. I just need some details. Who's in the photos? Any good stories to go with the photos?
Structural Changes
The 68th Heavy Battery and the 15th Brigade's attached 5th Battery provided the initial manpower and became the 9th and 11th Batteries of the new 1st Anti-Aircraft Regiment on 5 May 1939 as per General Order 118 1939. The 15th (Vancouver) Coast Brigade RCA and the 2nd Anti-Aircraft Battery RCA are subsequently called out as per General Order 124 1939.
Military Ball
Lieutenant George Lenis escorted his mother to the Military Ball to show her his appreciation. She did suggest that he invest in some dancing lessons. We're also not sure if the pictures were from the Military Ball in 2007 or the one in 2008. Were you at the Ball in those years? Can you take a look at your pictures and see if you can confirm which year these photos were from? While your at it, place your pictures in a shoebox and drop them off at Bessborough Armoury to my attention. I'll return them as soon as they're scanned. |
