The Bordeaux Submarine Pens (La base sous-marine) provided a great spot to check out some World War II German bunker construction that has been re-purposed to a modern art display.

The history of the site is provided by a backlit panel with photos and text. This works well as the site is unlit in order to provide a black background for the modern light show. Probably not a good idea for our museum as we need to keep the lights on!

The main part of the submarine pens is now used as a light show (Bassins de Lumières), claimed as the largest digital art centre in the world. I do not know what style of projector they use but the effects are rather astonishing on the walls of the bunker. It's doubtful if we could black out the armoury sufficiently to provide special historic video nights. The use of the existing large screen and the with historic videos may be something to consider.
