Remembrance Day 2001
After the salute, the guns fall into the parade behind the last unit allowing the salute troop commander the opportunity of paying his compliments as the troop drives past the dais. This first time privilege of joining in at the tail end of the parade was resisted by some on the civic committee as it was seen as a glorification of the military by having weapons displayed on Remembrance Day. For many of the Gunners it is the first time that they have been applauded for their service by such a large crowd.
