Regimental Sword - Captain Robert Harry Spring
Captain Spring was born in Vancouver, B.C. on 29 September 1935. He graduated from the University of British Columbia and took on a partnership with his father's law firm. During university he enrolled in the Canadian Officers' Training Corps and the 15th Field Artillery Regiment, RCA. He was the Adjutant when he retired. In his civilian career, Robert was employed by the Corporate Law Department of the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia and was a member of the Medical Legal Society of B.C which named him an honorary life member on his retirement.
Donated by the family of Captain Spring. It is an Artillery Officers' Sword, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second. Produced by Wilkinson Sword. Etched CAPTAIN RH SPRING. "Based on the 1822 Light Cavalry pattern, this sword features a slightly curved and spear-pointed carbon steel blade. The hilt is a half-basket in nickel-plated steel with three fluted bars and a grip in black fish-skin bound with silver-plated copper wire. The pommel is a stepped design." Pooley Swords
