More photos have been added to the 2016 St Barbara's Day Dining in page. The Regimental VAA bear made its appearance and raised sufficient funds to outfit the 25 pounder detachment. The bear will be back next weekend and we're looking to raise funds for the FAT (Field Artilery Tractor) upkeep. The Saturday night party may be sold out but there's still room at the Meet and Greet on Friday night! All the messes will be open!
Additional photos from Corporal Suds Sutherland funeral have been been posted. Check them out on the 2015 page here.
Less than a week to go before the meet and greet at Bessborough Armoury on Friday. Have you got any pictures to share? Bring them along! The Armoury for 15th Field Brigade, Canadian Artillery was approved in 1931.
The property at 2025 West 11th Avenue was owned by Mary Dinsmore. Mary was the wife of John Dinsmore who owned Dinsmore Island in the Fraser River at one time. If you drive from the airport to Richmond you might pass over the Dinsmore Bridge where the island used to be located. The island was purchased by the Vancouver Airport and the stretch of water between Sea Island and Dinsmore Island was filled in. Mary's house at 2025 West 11th Avenue was relocated and may still be standing somewhere in Vancouver! Mary Dinsmore had a son, Garnet Irvine Dinsmore, who served in the Foresty Corps in the First World War, moved to California afterwards and served in US Army Communications during the Second World War. Check out the other fascinating news articles from 1931 here! Thanks to Lieutenant Leslie Strike, I've just added 3 names to the group photo in 1954. There's still a lot of names missing but we're getting closer! Have you checked out the group photos from when you were in? Have I got your name correct? Can you help me out with a couple of the missing names? Hurry, the 100th anniversary is only 8 days away and it would be great if everyone was remembered! 15th Field Artillery Regiment RCA Officers - 2 June 1954

Warrant Officer Rick Tennant has provided some additional photos and videos from the Warrant Officers' & Sergeants' Mixed Dining in. We're not going to be quite this formal at our 100th Birthday Party but you should find many of the same guests there. Are you planning to attend? Don't forget the meet and greet on Friday night! The band rehearsal on Thursday. there's a lot going on for the centennial!
I'm not expecting too many members of the regiment from 1947 to show up at our 100th. Too bad, they've got some great stories to tell. The Honorary Colonel's Garden Party after an exercise at Point Grey Fort and the RSM just got himself a new/old truck! Check out the rest of the stories from 1947 here and don't forget, we want to hear your stories at our 100th Birthday Party. Have you bought your ticket yet?
The 39 CBG Command Team visits the Idaho National Guard BTX. Captain Wishnicki has provided a tremendous amount of photographs to our regimental history. How about YOU? Have you got that old dusty photo album that needs to be shared with other members of the regiment? Would you like to scan them to a memory stick and bring it to the Regimental 100th Birthday Party? Just leave it with your webmaster, Leon Jensen and I'll thread it into our history. Haven't got a scanner? No problem, just bring the photos in a shoe box and I'll scan them for you.
Warrant Officers' & Sergeants' Annual Dinner
The Warrant Officers and Sergeants gather for their annual dinner at Bessborough Armoury. It's a great opportunity for past Regimental Sergeants Major to come back and see how some of their former Gunners and Bombardiers have risen in the ranks. See more photos and videos here... A hardy band of explorers were granted access to the Point Grey Fort tunnels back in 2008. We've got some great photos from the excursion here. We're planning a return to the Point Grey Fort on 1 February with a tour starting at 1000 hrs. It's doubtful that we'll gain access due to the recent snow and rainfall but we'll still get a look at the topside of the #1 gun emplacement and the #3 gun emplacement. For those attending, dress warm, wear waterproof shoes and bring an umbrella! For those planning to stay warm on Saturday morning you can always ask WO Rick Tennant and Capt Kevin Walker about the 2008 tour.
