Check out that page and you can find the 1989 pay rates. A Private Recruit was paid $39.78 for a full day and $19.89 for a half day; A Master Bombardier (Basic) received $60.04 and $30.02; The Regimental Sergeant Major (Basic) received $87.54 and $43.77 and a Commanding Officer (Basic) was paid $141.34 and $70.67. Has it changed much since then? Warrant Officer Brian Harmon, CD died at age 74 and alone on December 26, 2025 from congenital heart failure in his room in the West Hotel in Vancouver. There will be a graveside gathering at the Sunnyside Gardens Cemetery in White Rock on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 10:00 am. He left the regiment (He was the second youngest of four brothers having served in the regiment) in 1978 and joined the Airborne Regiment where he continued his service until August of 1982. While in the airborne, he had over 60 jumps from altitudes under 1,000 feet. Brian deployed with the United Nations Emergency Force II which had been established in October 1973 to supervise the cease-fire between Egyptian and Israeli forces and, following the conclusion of these agreements of 18 January 1974 and 4 September 1975, to supervise the redeployment of Egyptian and Israeli forces and to control the buffer zones established under those agreements. The RCAA is looking to republish the many artillery history books written after the Second World War. You may have seen some of the original copies that were published in the 1940s. They're all in pretty bad shape. Attached is a copy of the 15th Field Regiment RCA CASF updated version. The updated version has attempted to include the first names of the soldiers that served in the unit but its turning out to be quite a daunting task. If you can add names to the lists in appendix IV it would be greatly appreciated. Also, pleased advise if you happen to find any typos, errors or omissions. Thank you - enjoy the read!
