Each of the Forts required a record book of armament, equipment and manpower to be maintained. I've placed each in the respective years in which the last notation was made on the copies that I was provided. Take along a copy of the photo the next time you go for a walk in Stanley Park or UBC and see what you can see of the old forts.

How much ammo do you think was kept in location for the defence of Vancouver two years after Pearl Harbour, the year after Kiska was occupied? Turkey presentation photos, and others have been added to the large album from the Soldiers' Christmas dinner in 2007. Looking for help filling in the names of everyone that was there. The Royal Canadian Artillery Association meets on an annual basis and brings together the reserve membership into a forum to discuss issues of importance. They provide annual resolutions for the the military leadership and the government of the day. As an example: Resolution 4-49 WHEREAS the existing gun badge is considered too large to be used on the beret now in use, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Royal Canadian Artillery desire of the proper authorities and urge that the miniature gun badge now taken into use on the beret in Great Britain. Vancouver Artillery Association (The Vancouver Gunners) Local News - March 2016 25pdr Training OK, we are ready to start training members who want to be part of our 25pdr detachment. John Brownlee Baker, a veteran of the 25pdr days, is prepared to run our start up program. He would like to conduct training on Saturday afternoons and we should get started soon, so who would like to join the team? Association Meeting The Association executive will be meeting shortly to determine future plans. We also need to have an AGM, NLT June. Wednesdays after lunch is good for most of us retired guys but many of you are still working. How many could make it to a Wednesday afternoon or evening meeting? How many would prefer a Saturday afternoon meeting?

Wickett passed on a copy of his military record card and I've updated his information. Go ahead and search Wickett and you should see all the latest changes.
I'm currently searching the archives to see if I can find that picture of Sergeant Wickett instructing a bunch of officers on the 90mm anti-aircraft gun. I'll let you know when I find it! |
