Vancouver Artillery Association Video Lunch
We had a great digital lunch on Wednesday 25 March with WO Goran Kurtagic, Capt (ret’d) Doug Gayton and Maj (ret’d) Bob Mugford. The lunch included a video tour of WO Kurtagic’s excellent property. We have room for 100 Wedding The groom Lieut Angus MacDougall Tierney, the best man Lieut G.J. Manson and two of the Ushers, Lieut J. Homan and Lieut K. Foote., were all members of the R.C.A. Unfortunately, the newspaper did not mention which units. I recognize Ken Foote but the others are new to me. Were they 15th Coast or 1st Searchlight? Don't forget our digital lunch! Dan was the Secretary-General of the Canadian Agency, Commonwealth War Graves Commission during the time of the articles. The events included the discovery of the body of a Canadian soldier in the Netherlands in 2001, the presentation of 50 calibre casings by the Russian Navy in 1993 and the unknown soldier project in 1999. We have a group photo taken in front of the Bessborough Armoury. The name of the organization is not listed, nor is the year. I believe it is 1939 due to the mix of uniforms. There is a separate list of last names corresponding to the photo but I have yet to match them with our current nominal roll. Are these new names to be added? First we need to find out the name of the uniform. I've found some info on Sgt Ashley Shatford who was a member of 1st Anti-Aircraft Regiment RCA. More to follow.

Drop in and say hello! Having difficulties connecting? Send me an email [email protected] You might have noticed that the website yearbook updates have been rather sparse lately. I had a significant issue with the nominal roll pages that had become too large for the website to handle. It became difficult to open the pages and they would frequently freeze the site as I tried to make changes. That's all been fixed! I have restricted the amount of names to a maximum of 100 to a page and the site handles that without a problem. 4,391 names, stories and 1,308 photos have now been transferred over to the new pages. Your primary job is to ensure that your nominal roll entry is correct and that I have the best picture of you in uniform posted. Got an update? Send it to me! Your secondary job is to assist me in ensuring that we have ALL the names of ANYONE that has ever served with 15th Field Artillery Regiment and the units that the regiment perpetuates. Have you got a name of one of your buddies that isn't on the nominal roll? Send it to me! Have you got information that one of our members has passed away and that's not indicated on the website? Send it to me! Want to research one of the World War I members that has sparse information posted on the website? Go to Library and Archives Canada, search their name and send me the update!
