The 15th Field Artillery Regiment Museum has sent out a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for a replacement large door to the museum to replace the existing garage style door. The intent of the door is to provide a view of some of the museum exhibit during times when the museum is not open. Send me an email if you are involved in that industry and have not received the RFQ. [email protected] The Regimental Museum is looking at purchasing a 3D scanner to use in replicating artefacts for visitors to handle without fear of damaging an original. It can also be used to reproduce items that we do not currently hold in our collection. One idea is to fill the 25 pounder limber with replica rounds for display at community events. We would also offer the use of the 3D Scanner to the Drone Club for their use. (We would probably let them hold onto it as they seem considerably more technically skilled than some of us in the Museum) The model chosen is the Einstar 2 - Wireless Handheld 3D Scanner retailing for $1,449.00 plus tax for a total of $1,622.88. We're looking to raise the funds for this item through our many viewers online. All donations will receive a charitable tax receipt. You can e-transfer your donation to [email protected] So far we've raised $100.00 After co-founding the Limber Gunners over 3 decades ago, Major (ret'd) Ron Paterson MMM CD has decided to pass the torch to new leaders. You never know who might show up for our national Coast to Coast toast that takes place this coming Wednesday at 1600 hours Pacific Time. Register for free here. Look for some old Gunners from days gone past or new Gunners that have recently joined. There will be some words from senior Gunners regarding artillery modernization and there will be a chance to discuss the situation in virtual rooms set up after the main event. Brenden Gansner from the 85VICS passed along some great Li-DAR images from Yorke Island. On the first image you can find the road and buildings which have been highlighted in the second image. Is this where we zoom into every part of the island and look for structures that we have yet to discover? Check out the other photos on the 2026 Yearbook page.
The second vehicle shelter is now standing and the canvas shelter has been raised thanks to the assistance of Thomas at IMS. Check out all the photos here.
