More pictures from Remembrance Day have been posted here. Can anyone tell me the name of the Detachment Commander of #1 Gun?
Captain Isaak Skuce has provided two albums of photos and I need some help identifying the dates and names in the photos. Take a look at the photos here and send in your info to [email protected]
Twenty-five new photos from the Isaak Skuce collection have been added to the Freedom of the City parade in 1995. Were you on that parade? Check out the photos here. Will you be attending our 100th Birthday Party on the weekend of 2 February 2020? Check out the Centennial page here.
New photos, taken by Murray Hendron, have now been posted on the Remembrance Day 2019 page.
Warrant Officer Class II George Chow
The Province featured George in an article in 2015. He was a member of the 16th Light Anti-Aircraft Battery during World War II and followed on after the war with the 43rd Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment and the 15th Field Regiment RCA. Check out 2015 here. Our Honorary Colonel Allan De Genova is also the President of the Honour House Society which established and maintains Honour House in New Westminster. Honour House is a refuge, a “home away from home” for members of our Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans, Emergency Services Personnel and their families to stay, completely free of charge, while they are receiving medical care and treatment in the Metro Vancouver area. The idea for Honour Ranch came several years ago. However, all great intentions take time to come to fruition. Volunteers and donors ensured that the project moved forward and Honour Ranch was officially opened on Saturday, 5 October 2019. See more...
A new entry into our regimental nominal roll is Battery Quartermaster Sergeant Major Hugh Moore Kelly DCM who was attested into the 68th Overseas Battery Canadian Field Artillery on 19 April 1916. He was subsequently taken on strength with the 62nd Battery, 15th Brigade Canadian Field Artillery and went overseas with them on 11 September 1916. On reorganization of the Canadian Field Artillery he was transferred to 2nd Brigade Canadian Field Artillery where he was recognized for his act of gallantry. His citation reads:
For marked gallantry in action. Near S'ancourt on 30th September 1918, when the Battery was moving to positions under heavy enemy shelling, he though wounded, stuck to his gun and put it in action. When a lull occurred in the enemy fire, he led the ammunition wagons in and took charge of the unloading of ammunition. BQMS Hugh Kelly DCM joins our other gallant members who can be viewed on this page. The newsletter archives page has become unstable. Too many copies have been saved on one page. In order to handle future copies, the existing page has been split into years. This should make it faster to scroll through the material for the copy that you're looking for. Trust you like the new look.
More photos have now arrived and a new page has been started. Check them out here! Keep them coming.
