I've set up a couple of new pages to highlight some of the decorations awarded to personnel that have been members of the 15th at some time in their career. Warrant Officer (ret) Dag Gruban has dug up many of the citations. We're still hunting for more information that must be out there somewhere..... A complete collection would include the citation, the member's photograph in uniform and a photo of their medals. It's a work in progress.
Check out the pages: http://www.vancouvergunners.ca/dso.html http://www.vancouvergunners.ca/mc.html http://www.vancouvergunners.ca/mm.html More great photos from 1977 thanks to Brigadier General (ret) William (Bill) Wickett. There's some Remembrance Day photos and Officers' Mess Activities. Let me know if you're in any of the photos. Check out the 1977 Yearbook.
The last photo in this update is of an unknown event (recruit graduation?) The parade are all wearing 'Cornflake' cap badges, the Reviewing Officer is a Brigadier General (Area Commander?) accompanied by Lieutenant-Colonel Wickett and the parade commander (a Bombardier?) The parade is being held at the Bessborough Armoury. Who else is in the photo? What is the parade for? Added some more photos from the Freedom of the City parade in the 1977 yearbook. Let me know if you're in any of the pictures and I'll add your name into the text. There's always room for more photos. Email them and I'll add them to the collection.
My tardiness in posting historic material is probably due to my involvement in events of today! Check out the video from the St Barbara's Special Guest Night and see if you can recognize the guests that came to dinner. The Bears were there and were a bad influence on yours truly. They kept on ordering more port and liqueur after dinner and then insisted that I drink them. sigh...
Yorke Island
Ross Keller - our Honorary Battery Commander was mentioned in the BC Parks Annual Report 2014/2015. Check it out in the 2015 yearbook. Would you like to help out with the fundraising for Yorke Island? Check out the Quartermaster Stores page. The Quartermaster Stores is now open! Okay, okay, there's not much in stock yet, but we're working on it. Your kind donations for any of our causes would be greatly appreciated. Check out the Quartermaster Stores page and send me comments on where we should go with it from here.
