Kathleen Victoria Holt The wife of Sergeant (Retired) Brian Holt passed away today, 23 December 2019, after courageously battling stage 4 ovarian cancer for the last 2 and a half years. "She fought hard the whole way through, and now she is at peace. My life has changed drastically from this day forward as I no longer have my right hand to guide me through life" Our hearts go out to Brian in this time of loss. Armstice Day - 11 November 1920
Vancouver Sun article has been uploaded to the 1920 yearbook page. The 15th Brigade did not fire on this day. It appears the parade was made up of returned soldiers with the Brockton Point cannon being used as a minute gun; one round at 1400 and another two minutes later. French Naval Vessels Salute The regiment fires a salute for the visiting French warships, Jeanne d'Arc and Victor Schoelcher. Anti-nuclear protesters blocked traffic on the Lions Gate Bridge but there was no effect with the salute troop. Visiting sailors were informally hosted by several members of the unit and Gauloises cigarettes brought about severe coughing fits. |
