30th Battery, 6th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment
With the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbour, it was decided to upgrade the Yorke Island defences by trading the 4.9" guns on Yorke with the 6" guns at Stanley Park. It was also determined that the threat of air attack had increased and two 40mm Bofors guns were sent to the island. The following letter arrived from Lieutenant Montgomery Gunn and outlined some of the Anti-Aircraft activities that took place at the time.
