Salute Troop Commander - Captain Preston?
Assistant Troop Commander - Captain Art Gee Salute Troop Sergeant Major - Warrant Officer George Wood #1 Detachment Commander – #2 Detachment Commander – Sergeant Bill Amos Gunner Doug Loney Gunner Don Booth #3 Detachment Commander – Sergeant Don Friedsam #4 Detachment Commander – Bombardier Leon Jensen? This Remembrance Day salute was different than previous ones as can be seen by the wearing of Combat as opposed to Battle Dress, the lack of red paint on the gun tires, and the painted over white bumpers on the 3/4 Ton SMP. It appears that the new Commanding Officer was striving for a more operational focus for the unit as opposed to a ceremonial. Check out the other photos in the 1973 Yearbook. The guns will be firing at Portside Park at 1100 hrs, 11 November 2016. C'mon down and fall in with the oldtimers! |
