18 Pounder - Lethbridge, AB
Lethbridge Military Museum acquired an 18 Pounder Mk. II Field Gun from a private owner. Reg No. 11449. At the time of these photos, no restoration had taken place. In 1933, 11449 on carriage C6553 was with the 66th Field Battery in Montreal, Quebec. It is one of the guns that came to Canada after the First World War.
Front, side and rear view - 18 Pounder No 11449 requires substantial work. The breech block is missing.
Cypher, stamps and other markings - The numbers close to the breech (8-3-0) represent the weight of the barrel (hundredweight-quarters-pounds) which would be equivalent to 980 lbs. NOF N/M 1918, No. 11449 on the breech, VSM 1917, Reg. No. C6553 brass plate on the wheeled carriage,
Wheels - Wooden wheel with rubber outer. One spoke appears to be damaged.
Gun Stores - None apparent.
