Canadian Forces' Decoration (CD)
The Canadian Forces' Decoration is awarded to officers and Non-Commissioned Members of the Canadian Forces who have completed twelve years of service. Special Service Medal (SSM)
The Special Service Medal (SSM) was created to recognize members of the Canadian Forces who are taking part in activities and operations under exceptional circumstances. In Mar 1994, Captain Noel RR Dykes, CD was awarded the SSM with NATO bar. Headquarters presentations are often in congruence with the expectations of field units. The presentation of this award was a “simple sliding across the table during the Headquarters’ Commanding Officer’s O Group.” See more... |

Gunner Douglas Corsor Jr. Memorial Trophy
The Gunner Douglas Corsor Jr. memorial trophy was created by his close friends in the Regiment, Gunner Noel RR Dykes, Gunner Joseph C. Gauthier, Gunner R. Gerard, Gunner H. Harsch and Gunner V. Hughes after his untimely death in a vehicle accident in 1974. It is presented to the Gunner that most exemplifies the best characteristics of being a Gunner. The 1994 award is presented to Gunner Ingram.

Captain Noel Dykes is Battery Commander, 4 Air Defence Battery, Air Defence Artillery School, Chatham, NB. These photos are from Ex Perfect Kill (ADATS live shoot) in Suffield AB in February 1994. Captain Dykes, as Exercise OIC, in the Command Post and viewing the T54 Tank target, hit by ADATS missile, Note hole, as viewed, to the right of the gun barrel, at the intersection of the front Glacis plate and the top deck…had tank been full of fuel and ammo it would have resembled those photos of completely torn apart tanks from Normandy invasion. In June 1994 Posted to Land Force Western Area Headquarters, Edmonton AB G1 Operations 2 (Responsible for all Board of Enquiries, Summary Investigations).

The prestigious event was held at the Hotel Vancouver. Invites were mailed, tickets purchased. Debutantes were enlisted and given a wonderful introduction to the intricacies of the formal event.
There was a Tea and training session with the RCMP. Dance lessons and a dress rehearsal at the Sherman Armoury and the Mother and Daughter Tea at HMCS Discovery. See more...

Lieutenant-Colonel Barrie Alan Clemons CD
Passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 28, 1994, at Maple Ridge Hospital, formerly of Surrey, B.C., aged 65 years. Predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years, Estelle, in 1991. Survived by daughter, Judith Mohorich of Kamloops, B.C.; son, Rod (wife Sandra) of Sardis, B.C.; 2 grandsons, Jason (Christi) Mohorich of 100 Mile House and Todd; great-grandson, Brodie; close friend, Mavis Campbell of Nelson, B.C.; brother-in-law, J.R. “Buck” (Ingrid) Barraclough of North Vancouver, B.C.; sisters-in-law, Sheila Moyer of Reno, Nevada, Joan (George) Messerschmidt of San Antonio, Texas; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Clemons was employed with Pacific Press, Province and Sun Circulation for 40 years, served many years with the 15th Field Artillery Regiment, commanding officer 1969-1972. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 2nd at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Valley View Funeral Home. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to B.C. Heart Fund. |

Captain C.V. (Hal) Hallett CD
Passed away suddenly on January 3, 1994, aged 75 years at Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Lillian; son John; daughter Karen; extended family and friends. Hal served in World War II with No. 1 Provost Company RCMP and later in the militia 43rd Regiment R.C.A. He retired as a Captain in 1958. In response to Hal’s request, there will be no funeral service. Remembrance donations can be made to the B.C. Cancer Society. Cremation. |

Captain Arthur Hicks Moffat
On Monday, December 12, 1994, Mr. Arthur Hicks Moffat, late of Victoria, B.C., passed away at the age of 73 years. Survived by his loving wife, Isobel; his children, Glen (Harriet), Jill Parker and Heather Moffat; three grandchildren, Melanie Parker, Jesse and Shannon Moffat. Arthur served in the Second World War with the 16th Light Anti-Aircraft Battery and was also employed with the Federal Government for 31 years. At his request, there will be no memorial service held. Arrangements through the Memorial Society of B.C. Captain Moffat was a member of the 15th Brigade, RCA in 1937. |
