Promotions and Appointments
William Wasbrough Foster DSO VD appointed Honorary Colonel. Colonel Foster was a former member of the 2nd Battalion Canadian Garrison Artillery. He was born in Bristol, England on 1 October 1876 and immigrated to Canada in 1894. In a 1913 by-election, Foster was elected Conservative member for The Islands in the British Columbia legislature. In November 1914, he joined the 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles. After distinguishing himself at the Somme and Vimy Ridge, he was promoted to command the 52nd Battalion in August 1917. Aside from a temporary post to command the 9th Infantry Brigade in September 1918, Foster remained with the 52nd until the end of the war. He received two DSO Bars, was twice wounded and was five times mentioned in dispatches. He was a member of the Vancouver City Police.

The Governor General was greeted by a 19 Gun salute from a composite saluting battery formed by members from 31st, 68th, 8th and 5th Batteries. (The Vancouver Sun indicates 8th but your editor believes this is a typo and should read 58th)

Armoury Construction
Ground is broken for the new Armoury. Property was purchased on West 11th Avenue and construction began in September, 1932. By November the building is well on it's way. See more...

Gunner Walter Teague Grahame
Former North Shore Jailer, Dies Here.
Aged 65, retired North Vancouver city jailor, died in Shaughnessy Military Hospital at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday. He had been connected with the police force on the North Shore twenty years.
Born in Scotland, Mr. Grahame served during the Boer War and the Great War and held the South African and Victory medals. Honorary vice-president and a past secretary of the North Vancouver Caledonian Society, he was granted an honorary membership in the organization several months ago. He was also active in affairs of the Army and Navy Veterans’ Association.
Gunner Grahame enlisted with the Vancouver Volunteer Reserve, Boorman's Battery 6 October 1915 and served in France and Belgium. See more...

MEXICO CITY, July 8. - C. Noel Wilde, Canadian Trade Commissioner in México City for the past nine years, who committed suicide Tuesday by shooting himself, was buried here today.
British service men were present in full force with their flags, as Mr. Wilde was a war veteran who was twice wounded.
