Exercise Limber Gunner, Shilo, MB 18-25 Mar 1984
BSM MWO Leon Jensen
If I recall properly, Limber Gunner was to be the confirmation exercise where callsign 4 (31 Battery) would fly to Shilo with our Battery and deploy for a week with the 3ef Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. Only problem in 1984 is that the two training plans weren't coordinated and the 3rd was busy elsewhere?

I'm hoping I have the year of these photos accurately placed. We're wearing rank on our slip-ons, we're callsign 4, guns are the C1 variant and the're painted green rather than camouflage. We can definitely confirm that the location is Yakima Firing Centre. This appears to be Sergeant Layne Yoshimaru's gun detachment. See more...

Remembrance Day Salute
The Band is on parade with the Bandmaster, Chief Warrant Officer Richard Van Slyke directing and the Drum Major, Warrant Officer Clive Walton at the front. The Cadets are on parade as well. The biggest problem with photographs of the gun detachment is usually the location of the photographer at the rear of the gun. Hmmm, who had a haircut like that one? I believe I see Bombardier Ian Smith as a loading number but I definitely need some help identifying anyone else. See more...
