Promotions and Appointments
Brigadier (ret) Aeneas E. McBean Bell-Irving OBE ED appointed Honorary Colonel. Brigadier Bell-Irving was born 3 May 1898. He went to school in Scotland and served in the First World War, commissioning as a Second Lieutenant on 19 August 1916. After the war he worked for a company in China before returning to Canada in 1929. He returned to military service in 1939 and became Commanding Officer of the 2nd Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, RCA during World War 2, stationed east of London, England. For this service he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire on the 1st of January 1944. He was awarded the Efficiency Decoration in 1945.

Recruiting Brochure
There is no date on the brochure however, we're talking some time after the Second World War, sometime before the word "Artillery" was inserted into our name in 1960,  sometime after 1948 when the unit was re-roled as Field Artillery, sometime after 1957 when the jeep in the brochure was manufactured, Recognize any faces? Where was that Regimental Coffee Bar set up?

Recruiting Ads
There was quite a bit of creativity in the newspaper ads. Fire the big ones. Gunnery on big, new 105mm howitzers. New friends, fresh interests, Gunnery on spanking new 105mm howitzers. 

Fort Lewis, Washington
The 15th Field Regiment deploys to Fort Lewis with brand new deuce and a halfs pulling the 25 pounders. Some of the pictures provide a small glimpse into camp life. The majority detail the fire power demonstration provided by the US Army with accompaniment from the Regimental band. See more...

Will there be one for her arrival? There was one for her birthday.

Isabel Bell-Irving, and her brothers, from left to right, Roderick, Henry, Aeneas, Richard, Malcolm, and Duncan, all served in the First World War. Isabel was nursing in Lady Ridley’s hospital for wounded officers in London.

Training
15th Field Regiment, RCA proceeded on Annual Training to Wainwright Camp from 28 June to 7 July.

Officer Candidate Program
​Second part consisted of detachment training on the 105mm C1 Howitzer. Officer Cadets Del Hyatt, Barrie Hamilton and Gary Bailey were all in different units at this time but they would all end up in 15th Field Regiment RCA in the future.​
