Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal
The Queen’s Golden Jubilee medal commemorates the 50th anniversary of the accession of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second to the throne. This commemorative medal program is now closed. This medal is administered by the Chancellery of Honours at Rideau Hall. Most Proficient Detachment Commander of the Year
The BC Ex Artillery Sergeants Association provided this trophy for the Regiment to recognize their most proficient detachment commander for the year. This trophy is awarded annually by the firing battery’s leadership to the detachment commander that displayed the greatest overall proficiency throughout the year. This year’s winner was Sergeant Rick Tennant. |
Gunner Douglas Corsor Jr. Memorial Trophy
The Gunner Douglas Corsor Jr. memorial trophy was created by his close friends in the Regiment, Gunner Noel RR Dykes, Gunner Joseph C. Gauthier, Gunner R. Gerard, Gunner H. Harsch and Gunner V. Hughes after his untimely death in a vehicle accident in 1974. It is presented to the Gunner that most exemplifies the best characteristics of being a Gunner. This year’s award is presented to Gunner CS Godsoe. |

This trophy is awarded to the most efficient member of the Sergeants’ Mess as determined by the displayed rating system. It is awarded at the Warrant Officers' and Sergeants’ Mess Annual Mess Dinner for their activities in the previous year. The winner for her service in 2001 is Sergeant Andrea M Bond. |

Bombardier James Robert (Jim) Davies
Passed away July, 10 2002. He was born in Victoria, BC on August 26, 1916. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Betty; sons, Brian (Dennise), Bruce (Janine) and Kevin. There will be a memorial service at Church of St. John the Divine on Monday, July 15, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Jim was a loving husband and father and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be made to the family at www.mcallbros.com.

Staff Sergeant Ernest Leslie Freeborn CD
Born April 27, 1921 in Govan, Saskatchewan, passed away January 4, 2002 at Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock. “Ernie” served Canada in WWII in Europe (1940-1945) as a member of the 2nd Anti-Tank Regiment R.C.A. C.A.S.F. He grew up in Lumsden, Saskatchewan and volunteered for service at the outset of the war. Afterwards, in Vancouver, he worked for B.C. Hydro for many years, before moving to Saratoga Beach, Vancouver Island where he owned McLeod’s Cottage Resort for several years. He retired from C.P. Transport, and resided in White Rock until his death. Ernie was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and Royal Canadian Army Reserve for many years, one of the early coaches/founders of the Whalley Little League Cubs, and also coached minor hockey in Surrey.
