UN Protection Force (Yugoslavia) (UNPROFOR)
UNPROFOR was established in February 1992 as an interim arrangement to create the conditions of peace and security required for the negotiation of an overall settlement of the Yugoslavian crisis. The role of the UN troops was to ensure that areas designated as "UN Protected Areas" (UNPA) became and remained demilitarized and that all persons residing in these areas were protected from fear of armed attack. Clinton Yeltsin Summit in Vancouver - 3 April 1993
The first meeting between President Bill Clinton of the United States of America and Russian President Boris Yeltsin. The guns deployed to the tarmac at Vancouver International Airport and awaited the arrival of Air Force One and the equivalent Russian airliner. Captain Leon Jensen was dispatched to the reception area where he stood with a cell phone awaiting for the Honour Guard to order "Present Arms." Standing with the phone, in the crowd, he waited for each of the dignitaries to step up to the podium, he whispered into the receiver, "Standby", "Standby", "Standby" (Why is that Security guy standing beside Capt Jensen and why are the snipers on the hangar roofs scanning the crowd?) "Fire!" Perfect timing! The Commanding Officer, Lieutenant-Colonel John Brownlee-Baker and the Regimental Sergeant Major Chief Warrant Officer Vic Yano can be seen standing at the front with the Salute Troop Command Team, Lieutenant Kent Wickens, Lieutenant Nick Watts and Sergeant John McClelland.
#1 - Sergeant Rob Wishnicki

The 48th Annual Military Ball
The prestigious event was held at the Hotel Vancouver. Invites were mailed, tickets purchased. Debutantes were enlisted and given a wonderful introduction to the intricacies of the formal event. There was a Debutantes’ Dinner and Dance at the Seaforth Armoury. There was a tea and training session with the RCMP. The Dads and Daughters event at The Drill Hall on Beatty Street. The menu was prepared. Newspaper articles were printed and the Debutantes prepared for the big event! But still no photos of the actual event…… See more...
