Fort Lewis 1982
As with many of our photos, the dates on these photos are somewhat unclear. They may be MILCON 82 or they may be a weekend exercise. The first photos are of Sergeant Noel Dykes' Detachment. Silhouetted as he brings his gun into action. He appears to be talking with Second Lieutenant Graeme Stewart in the next two photos and then rolling cam nets in the third one. The Battery conducts a "Battery Right" shoot. Unable to make out whose gun this may be. I see an "A" on the door, the tarps rolled back for aircraft sentry but the distance is too great. See more...

Visit of USS Peleliu - 7 December 1982
How many foreign navy ships visit the port of Vancouver in a year? Were we really this busy in 1982 returning salutes? Or, do I have the dates confused? It's Dial-a-Sailor time in Vancouver VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Psst -- hey swabby -- want to have a good time? Try Vancouver, B.C. They have Dial-a-Sailor. Visit of Italian Navy D550 Ardito and F564 Lupo
It's a wet, rainy Vancouver, the pictures are rather blurry and there are no dates indicated. The ships can be identified through their hull numbers, Navy D550 Ardito and F564 Lupo and we know that it is autumn. The gun line officers wore forage caps while the Junior NCOs wore berets. Were you there? Can you confirm the date? See more ...
