Lieutenant-Colonel Bud Garrett was the Commanding Officer with Warrant Officer Class I Dave Penman as his Regimental Sergeant Major. The amalgamation of 15th Field Regiment and 43rd Medium Anti-Aircraft Regiment required substantial changes in organization. Two Batteries (209th and 210th) were added to 15th Field and the personnel slate was reviewed. Those personnel in positions that disappeared were either released or offered positions elsewhere, sometimes with a reduction in rank.
Lieutenant-Colonel Graham Blyth was the Commanding Officer with Warrant Officer Class I James Bathurst as his Regimental Sergeant Major. On 15th October 1959, the 43rd Medium Anti-Aircraft Regiment, RCA was amalgamated with the 15th Field Regiment, RCA resulting in the turning in of equipment and the transferring of two Batteries to the field regiment. The 43rd Medium Anti-Aircraft Regimental Band is redesignated 15th Field Regiment RCA Military Band.

National Survival
The following information comes from the Historical Section (G.S) Report No. 96 The Canadian Army's Role in Survival Operation that was prepared on 29 October 1962. It was classified Top Secret and declassified in 1986.
51. Following the meeting of the Minister of National Defence with the Conference of Defence Associations, the Chief of the General Staff advised the several General Officers Commanding on 29 January 1959 that the training of the Militia would be designed to make it effective in Survival Operations rather than in field operations. Detailed instructions would be issued later.

James M. Dowie, 62, of 4623 No. Gove St., died yesterday while at work at Cascade Linen Supply. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he had lived here 32 years. He was first associated with the Home Service Laundry and spent his last seven years with Cascade Linen Supply. Mr Dowie served with the Canadian Army during World War I and was a member of the Canadian Legion.
Bombardier Dowie enrolled 68th Overseas Depot Field Battery as a Gunner 21 Feb 1916; proceeded to France with the 3rd Canadian Division Ammunition Column and served in North Russia with the 16th Brigade, Canadian Field Artillery in 1918/1919. See more....

GANGES – Funeral services were held at the United Church here this afternoon for Arthur William Drake, 70, resident of Salt Spring Island since 1912, who died Thursday in Victoria. Born at Cornwall, P.E.I., he had worked at several B.C. creameries before coming here to manage the Salt Spring Island Creamery. He went overseas in 1916, serving in France, Belgium and Germany with the 51st Bty., Canadian Field Artillery. In 1919 he returned to his former post, and a short time later married Lydia Mouat, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.W. Mouat.
Bombardier Drake enlisted 13 April 1916, and went to England, with the 62nd Battery, 15th Brigade, Canadian Field Artillery. See more....

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. for George Martin Haddock who passed away Saturday in the Royal Columbian hospital. He lived at 35 Alexander Street and services were held from Henderson’s Funeral chapel. Burial followed in the Anglican cemetery. Rev. J.W. officiating.
