April 1st - Church Parade in TIN TOWN
April 2nd - Ordinary training in Gun Park carried on. Inspection of Laying (?). Musketry Instructors under SGT KEDDIE, att 150th Bn arrived. Schedule made out for
April 3rd - Duke of Connaught did not arrive. Only BATTY to go in field was 58th. Wet snowy day. (?) S. Smith to ALDERSHOT for course. CAPT LATIMER (?) to be attached as from 24th March.
April 4th - D.A.C. cease to ration 48 ORs of this BDE on release from Quarantine Section Training in field.
April 5th - Sections training in the field. Late passes. Midnight for Sergeants and 11 pm for other Ranks. Gas training is progressing. No lectures for Limber Gunners as ST. SGT FAWCETT is sick with eczema.
April 6th - Fine spring day. Training in GUN PARK. Afternoon free. (?) allowed away on leave from yesterday afternoon to SUNDAY MIDNIGHT.
April 7th - C.O’s inspection. Huts and lines generally in good shape.
April 8th - EASTER SUNDAY. A good fair day. Church services well attended.
April 9th - SIR R.L. BORDEN visited and inspected the Camp at 10.30 A.M. This BDE were(?) at BATT GUN DRILL in GUN PARK. The five SGT.’S-MAJ were confirmed in their ranks in today’s orders, he appointments dating back some considerable time.
April 10th - The usual training carried. Use is being made of miniature range belonging to Infantry. The weather is only fair.
April 11th - A small skeleton scheme in conjunction with Inf. was worked out today.
April 12th - An ? of 2 Lbs hay per horse for 175 horses of BDE to load during ? days. 18 men struck off strength on transfer to T.M.s and 6 men to D.A.G.
April 13th - Section training and cleaning up for H.R.H. DUKE OF CONNAUGHT tomorrow.
April 14th - Cold rainy day. DUKE inspected lines at 12.20 NOON. The three 18 Pr. Batteries in PARK at BATTY GUN DRILL, the HOW BATTY at the O ? work across HASLEMERE RD. H.R.H. and retinue were aminatographed. GR. BULLEN C.L. 58th BATTY awarded 28 days detention on 13.4.17 by R.C.M. for absence without leave. CPL ATKINSON to WOOLWICH.
