Retirement Dinner Lieutenant-Colonel Gary Bailey CD
The Commanding Officer, Lieutenant-Colonel William (Bill) T. Wickett CD with the former Commanding Officer Lieutenant-Colonel Gary Bailey CD and the Regular Support Staff Officer Captain Red Harrison CD.
Lieutenant-Colonel William (Bill) T. Wickett, Lieutenant-Colonel Gary Bailey CD and an unidentified member (1).
Pre-dinner libations at the Officers' Mess Bar. E.E. (Ted) Johnson, Captain Preston, Captain Martin Casey and Captain Woloski. Meanwhile, in the Mess, the Medical Officer Captain I.D. Kornder in discussion with Major Barry Hamilton, Captain (2), (3) and Captain Bill Chilton.
The discussion with the Medical officer may have been over his new eye exam chart which he is shown demonstrating to Second Lieutenant (5). After the pre-dinner drinks it's time for dinner with the Commanding Officer at the head table with the honoured guest Lieutenant-Colonel Gary Bailey.
It appears to have been a respectable dinner until after dessert. I'm not sure who started the dinner antics, however, we have captured Captain Red Harrison passing on the candle that's been lit on both ends and then we have Lieutenant Ian Newby passing on the inverted wine glass. Ian seems to be in both pictures. Was he the instigator?
The inverted wine glass always ends up in someone's lap! Major Barrie Hamilton presents the outgoing Commanding Officer with a departure gift with Lieutenant-Colonel Wickett and Lieutenant William Basaraba listening in.
Cigars are lit and words of wisdom are passed on.

The Regimental Band, under the leadership of the Bandmaster Chief Warrant Officer Peter Erwin, plays stirring regimental music throughout the dinner from the upstairs lecture room.
Afterwards, the Bandmaster is invited to sit with the head table for a cigar and a libation.
Of course there's never an end to the music! One final gift to the outgoing Commanding Officer, a photo album of his time in the Regiment.
The dinner is not complete without a group photo; from the rear, left to right: Lieutenant Ian Newby, 2, Lieutenant Preston, Lieutenant William Basaraba, Captain LD Kornder, Captain Bob Mugford, Major Robert Foulis, Captain Martin Casey, 9, Major Barrie Hamilton, Captain 11, Major Stuart McDonald, Major Victor Stevenson, Captain Hoskinson, Captain Wayne Davidson, Captain Bill Chilton, 17, Captain Gary Woloski, Lieutenant-Colonel Gary Bailey, Lieutenant-Colonel William (Bill) T Wickett, Captain Red Harrison, Second Lieutenant Laschuk, Lieutenant E.E. (Ted) Johnson.

The evening is still young after dinner and the bar is doing a roaring business. Someone has opened the bubbly much to the delight of Captain Bob Mugford. Not sure what concoction Captain Wayne Davidson is drinking from the trophy. Champagne?
More action at the bar as the Bandmaster provides a vocal rendition of ????.
After dinner is also a time for reflection by the outgoing Commanding Officer with his Medical Officer and the Padre. Of course there is still frivolity as demonstrated by this duo of Captains with their aural cigars possibly seeking the Medical Officers advice as to the effectiveness of their reduced smoking campaign.
The night is not complete without the firing of the miniature cannons. Captain Gary Woloski loads the black powder.
Major Stuart McDonald and Captain Red Harrison fire the cannons with a huge flash. Note to wines member - buy some fuzes!
