Bombardier Jimmy Blackburn
Bombardier James (Jimmy) Walter Blackburn was taken on strength with 85th Heavy Battery, 15th (Vancouver) Coast Brigade, RCA and served on Yorke Island. He was a Gunner in 1940 and a Lance Bombardier in 1942 when he married Elma Wark. Bombardier Blackburn passed away on 8 April 1966 and his ashes were scattered off Point Atkinson.
His daughter, Alexis Smith, was kind enough to donate his photographs to the 15th Field Artillery Regiment Museum and Archives in February 2021. We've scanned the photos to this page and made copies to the relevant pages in the yearbook as we identified the date that they were taken.
Photos like these are priceless and the Museum is indebted to Alexis for her kind gift.

The 15th Field Artillery Regiment Museum and Archives relies on many Canadians across the country to help us preserve our history. More than 5, 250 Canadians have served in the 15th Field Artillery Regiment, its predecessors and the units that it perpetuates. They deserve to be remembered.
