Canada Day 2019
The 15th Field Artillery Regiment RCA fired a 21 gun salute to commemorate Canada Day at 12 Noon from the saluting base at Stanley Park. Captain Rob Wishnicki and Bombardier Stone were awarded their second bars to the Canadian Forces Decoration for 32 years of service! The Vancouver Artillery Association, Tony Gee, Doug Loney, Bill Ingram and Andrew MacRae brought out the 25 Pounder, Limber and Field Artillery Tractor.
Of course the Band of the 15th Field Artillery Regiment were also in attendance at the Saluting Base after marching over from HMCS Discovery. Photography by Christopher Anderson.
Not all of the Gunner family was at Stanley Park on Canada Day. Your Vancouver Artillery Association president, Leon Jensen tracked down Ian Smith, Ken Shaw and Darren Kostinuk at the Fort Langley festivities where they were showcasing Ian Newby's TLAV. There was also Canada Day at The Nat recognizing the Canadian Armed Forces with a game between the Canadians and Hillsboro. Many thanks to Honorary Colonel Al de Genova for organizing the event!
