Canadian Officer Training Corps - 1949
The Canadian Officer Training Corps (COTC) was a program instituted in 1912 that provided incentives for students to join a uniformed contingent on a part-time basis while attending university. The program provided paid employment through the summer months and gave additional credits for military focused training. Many graduates subsequently continued their careers in either the Regular Force or Primary Reserve units across Canada. Major Vic Stevenson was a COTC member in his early career.
