Served with 5th Anti-Tank Regiment RCA during World War II, taken on strength 15th Field Regiment RCA on attachment from 34 Field Regiment RCA CA(M) as a Captain on 1 June 1956, ceases attachment on 31 July 1956, taken on strength on attachment from Supplementary Reserve (Royal Canadian Army Pay Corps) on 1 Aug 1956, ceases attachment on 1 October 1958, transferred from Royal Canadian Army Pay Corps to Royal Canadian Artillery on 2 October 1958, taken on strength on transfer from Supplementary Reserve on 2 Oct 1958, retired 1978, deceased 8 Jun 1987.

15th (Vancouver) Coast Artillery Regiment RCA The Number 1 Gun on Yorke Island circa 1939. This painting depicts an instructional lesson during the days when 85 Battery was manning the Fort. The Regiment had only recently been converted from Field Artillery to Coast Artillery and they had only recently been mobilized to defend the City of Vancouver from a northern approach. 1st Anti-Aircraft Regiment RCA 43rd Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, RCA The formation of the 1st Anti-Aircraft Regiment RCA was announced in May 1939 with The 15th Brigade providing the 68th Battery attached 5th Battery as the initial manpower. They became the 9th and 11th Batteries of the new regiment. This painting depicts a demonstration of the 3.7" Anti-Aircraft gun that took place at Spanish Banks. 15th Field Regiment, RCA The Regiment was equipped with the 25 Pounder gun from the end of World War II to the early 1960s. The Quick Firing 25 Pounder was the main gun of the Canadian Field Artillery throughout World War II and into the Korean conflict. The Regimental Museum maintains a 25 Pounder complete with Limber and Field Artillery Tractor. This painting portrays the 25 Pounder deployed for a Salute at Stanley Park. L (Néry) Battery Royal Horse Artillery On the morning of 1 September 1914 the German 4th Cavalry Division attacked 1st Cavalry Brigade and L Battery, who had been camped in the village of Néry. In the action that followed, L Battery, less for one gun, was all but destroyed. The 13-pounder gun manned by Captain Bradbury, WO2 Dorrell, Sergeant Nelson, and Gunners Osbourne and Darbyshire, managed to keep the single gun in action against the three German Batteries located a thousand yards away. The Artillery fire put down by this gun allowed the 1st Cavalry Brigade to deliver a successful Counter attack. For this action Captain Bradbury, WO2 Dorrell, Sergeant Nelson, were all awarded the Victoria Cross. Location: Warrant Officers' & Sergeants' Mess 15th Field Artillery Regiment RCA |
King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery This painting commemorates the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery ties with the Royal Regiment of Artillery in Great Britain. The King's Troop is a is a ceremonial unit of the British Army, quartered at Woolwich. It is a mounted unit and all of its soldiers are trained to care for and drive teams of six horses pulling each of six First World War-era 13-pounder field guns used today to fire salutes on state occasions.
