Our trumpeter Bombardier Ross Bligh is in Belgium and France to play Last Post in ceremonies commemorating 100 years since the signing of the armistice. The remainder of the Band was equally busy as they performed their "With Glowing Hearts" concert on November 10th with the Vancouver Welsh Men's Choir in Tsawwassen and on November 11th at the Massey Theatre in New Westminster.
In the east, Lieutenant (ret'd) George Lenis was placing the Air Canada wreath at the the National War Memorial in Ottawa while in North Vancouver, proud father, Sergeant Colin Parkinson looks on as his daughter gives a one minute speech by memory to a crowd of over 600 people at the Cenotaph Remembrance Day ceremony.
Further west, Brenden and Rich from the 85VICS laid a wreath for Yorke Island at the Sayward memorial.
There's also an Artillery presence in Aldergrove with Major (ret'd) Ian Newby leading the parade with his vehicles from the Western Museum of the Armed Forces in the parade. That's Warrant Officer (ret'd) Ian Smith in the TLAV commander's hatch with Bombardier Darren Kostinuk driving.
