Gunners Return to Vimy
A few of the the 15th Field Artillery Regiment RCA present at the 100th Anniversary of Vimy Ridge; Major General Stuart McDonald, Gunner Jessica Deacon, Bombardier Bojan Aleksic and Major Woo. They were subsequently joined by French veteran Bret Louis holding the flag in the picture below.
Master Warrant Officer (Master Gunner) Colin Norris (a former member of 15 Fd Regt and 2 RCHA) plays over the grave of Piper James C. Richardson, VC - 16th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force, Adanac Military Cemetery, France. On April 8th, 2017, the Town of Thelus welcomed the gunners on the Vimy Ridge Tour for a ceremony at the Artillery Memorial located there. They paraded to the Memorial where there were the speeches, sounding of "Last Post' and "Rouse", Piper Colin Norris played Lament, with the wreath laying ceremony by the Mayor and by the Colonel Commandant Jim Selbie. Afterwards, the town folks hosted a reception.
At the Vimy Ridge Memorial on April 9th, Major Woo ran into the Honorary Colonel, Bill Rodgers. Three detachments from 2 RCHA were in attendance firing a 21 gun salute on the 105mm L5 pack howitzers.
