Warrant Officers' & Sergeants' Mess Renovations
With the kind support of the Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel Al DeGenova, the Warrannt Officers' and Sergeants' Mess was able to carryout extensive renovations to their mess. The construction revealed some of the work from a previous renovation. The story has it that a self-help project went slightly askew. In the original configuration, the Mess was divided into two rooms. The renovation committee decided that it would appropriate to introduce an open concept and removed the dividing wall, without determining that it was a load bearing structure. Fortunately, the Construction Engineers from Base Chilliwack were able to install the large metal girder which can be seen in the photos.
