Fellas coming/leaving Yorke on the MV Chelosin, a union steamship. Most commonly, it seemed to be the vessel that handled the switch between the 85th and the 58th. Possibly a coincidence due to timing or its route. Ross Keller
The two fellas here are at one of two look out/hang out spots that have been in a few other pictures. There were two 'hang out' spots. One up near the top of Hill 260, the other between the 2nd and 3rd searchlights. I believe this is the Hill 260 hang out. Ross Keller

Active Service Life
To give the men a break from this isolated posting there was a rotation with the Vancouver batteries of the Regiment. The first major rotation took place in October 1940 when Major R.T. DuMoulin brought the 58th Battery from Point Grey and took command from Major Piercey, who had commanded since late September 1939.
Vancouver Defended, Peter N Moogk, Pg 91
The following pictures are from Major Dumoulin's Yorke island album. there is no indication that they are solely from that one rotation or includes photos from other years.
