There's a couple of opportunities for a couple of drivers / Gunners in the next week.
On Sat/Sun 11/12 Mar there will be a display in Abbotsford. The event is "Sky's No Limit - Girls Fly Too." Ian Newby will have his M109 on display and is looking for knowledgeable Gunners that can explain it's features. https://www.girlsfly2.ca/ This a volunteer event. On Tuesday 14 March, Ian is looking for a couple of HEMTT, LMTV and M925 drivers. Interested? Major John Brownlee-Baker leads 31 Battery in the march past. From right to left - Captain Steve Burridge, Lieutenant Nick Watts, Bombardier Al Mcdonnell, Bombardier Scott Waldman, 6, 7, Major Al Woo. Master Bombardier Dominic Da Assuncao and Private Tom Green are followed by Gunner Rob Garrett, 12, Bombardier Dawne Larsen, Master Bombardier Kevin Rankin, Gunner Lisa Abbott, Private Penny Wright, Bombardier Barry Macleod, Private William Martinez and Sergeant Keith Laing. That may be Major Bob Mugford in the rear. Master Bombardier Ian Smith leads 22, Bombardier Rob Wishnicki, 24, Sergeant Mike Imada and Sergeant John McClelland Callsign 45 C in Fort Lewis. Can you identify some of the faces? Master Bombardier Rob Wishnicki as Number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Andrew Scott, Rudy Buchanan, 9  A quick stop into the Fort Bliss Military Museum. Some interesting vehicles, mostly Armour focused. The M2 105mm howitzer was not in the best of shape as it was missing a panoramic mount and a few other items. The Kids Command Centre might be something we should look into with our museum. It might be a great place for that Battle Dress tunic of mine that seems to have shrunk over time. |
