More photos from Peter Moogk's collection and the May 1980 live fire exercise in Ft Lewis. It was on the Sunday morning at 8:30 when Mt St Helene's erupted.
We have all the names listed in our 1980 Ft Lewis page except for the one Gunner beside Warrant officer Gordie Wright. Do you know she is?

The Colonel Commandant of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery has promoted a program established by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) to commemorate our fallen in a virtual but most meaningful way.
The CWGC's gardeners in Normandy have offered to place a tribute next to the headstone of each grave or at the foot of the Bayeux Memorial in response to individual requests from those wishing to pay homage.
We have a list of Gunners and would like to ensure that we take a moment to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice that they gave to Canada. I would ask you to pick a name and then go to www.cwgc.org/share-your-tribute/normandy-tribute.to register their name online.
Once completed, please come back to our Facebook page and advise us of the name you chose. Submissions must be done by 31 May 2020!

Fort Lewis Live Fire Exercise
Major (Ret'd) Peter Moogk has provided some additional photos from the Smoker after the Live fire Exercise in Fort Lewis in May of 1980. Check out the other photos here.

​Change of Command
Lieutenant-Colonel Pierre Lajoie, CD turned over command of the 15th Field Artillery Regiment, RCA to Lieutenant-Colonel Nick Watts, CD on 23 May 2020. The 39 Canadian Brigade Group Commander, Colonel Paul Ursich, CD supervised the handover. Check out the other photos and the video here.
