Thanks to the Lincoln and Welland Regiment Museum we have some additional bio information on a former RSM, Willard G Purdy, who went on to become a Major by the end of the Second World War!

Saturday, 17 February 2018 - Regimental Birthday Party Details to follow  Monday, 1 January 2018 - New Year's Day Levee Several timings for the start of the year: 0830 - Warrant Officers' & Sergeants' Mess breakfast at Frankie’s Italian Kitchen and Bar, Georgian Court Hotel, 773 Beatty Street. 1030 - Officers at home to the Warrant Officers and Sergeants 1100 - Officers' Mess open for New Years' Day Levee. The dress for the 1st of January is DEUs with medals or business attire. Spouses and partners are welcome as well.  I came across some photos from the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal parade in 2001. Not the clearest photos but better than nothing. Anyone have some of their own that they would like to share? Operation Last Jedi On December 16, BMO Bank of Montreal sponsored a special screening of Star Wars: The Last Jedi in Vancouver for over 150 soldiers from 39 Brigade, 3rd Division, as a way to say thank you for their service. "This opportunity to connect with so many members of our Canadian Military was a great way to thank them for their service, courage and commitment," said James Kitamura, Regional Vice-President, Vancouver Centre Market, who assisted during the event with Branch Managers Justin Joe and Brad Carmichael. See more...  The Band of the 15th Field Artillery Regiment RCA held their annual dinner earlier in the year honouring the patron saint of musicians, St Cecilia. Check out the photos here. Promotions are an important step in a soldier's career. They are usually done on parade so that your fellow soldiers can see the important that has occurred. Often times that step includes increased responsibility. Unfortunately, no one has provided your internet editor with a guide as to who was promoted and to what rank.
