How did you spend your Tuesday night? In our household we took on the task of removing the wax from the Regimental Table Runners. It seems that the Warrant Officers and Sergeants Annual Dinner created quite the wax build up as the candles burned down. It took a lot of ironing but we may have gotten most of the wax out! What's a better solution? Higher quality candles? A silver wax drip catcher under each of the candelabra?
We've had some items donated with the caveat that if they did not fit into our museum collection we were allowe to sell them and receive some money for our heritage projects. Contact [email protected] if you have any questions. Payment would be by interac e-transfer. If you are a military museum and you see an item that fits your collection, contact us and we'll see about donating it to your collection. Check out the items as they're posted here. The week before Remembrance Day many people's thoughts turn towards the veterans that have passed away and the units that they served in. The 15th Field Artillery Regiment Museum and Archives would like to expand our opening hours during the week of 4 to 11 November in order to accomadate school groups, cadet groups and families that would be interested in visiting. We're thinking of a schedule from 10:00 in the morning until 8:00 in the evening. Would you be interested in donating some time? A complete day? Or a couple of hours? Send me an email with your availability to [email protected] Major (ret'd) Ian Newby passed along some photos of the event held at Mills Lake in Abbotsford. Check out the other photos here.
