Warrant Officers' & Sergeants' Mess Mixed Dining In The Mess held a Mixed Dining in with members bringing their significant others for a great evening at the Mess! The event was held on 27 April 2019 with many compliments provided to the PMC of the Dinner and the Committee. You know it's a success when members say, "We should do this more often!" The award is presented under the Heritage Planning and Management category with an Honour for the Yorke Island Conservancy Heritage Conservation Plan and a Recognition for the BC Parks Cultural Heritage Handbook. My name is Joon Sohn and I am from student-led organization Hold High the Torch at École Salish Secondary. We are hosting a Veterans Appreciation Luncheon on Saturday May 11, 2019, 11:00am - 2:00pm at École Salish Secondary (7278 184 St, Surrey, BC V4N 5V2). We want to honour our local veterans, active-duty military personnel and their spouses/caretakers by treating them to a complimentary lunch with great food, activities, prizes, and live entertainment provided by Pat Chessell. The Keynote Speaker will be The Honourable Yonah Martin, Senator from BC. It is a grateful opportunity for Surrey/Langley/Delta residents to show our appreciation for those who served our nation and fought for our freedoms. Attached is an invite flyer. He went on to serve in the 2nd Canadian Siege Battery where he was awarded the Military Medal for Bravery in the Field and was killed in action on 5 September 1919. Lest we forget.
