The 15th Field Artillery Regiment Museum and Archives is in the process of acquiring several significant artefacts for its collection. The first artefact is an M109 155mm self propelled howitzer. Many Gunners in 15th Field Regiment were qualified on this gun during attachments with the 1st Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. The second artefact is the 155mm C1A1 towed howitzer (also known as the M114) which 85th Battery, 15th Field Regiment, RCA was briefly outfitted with in 1964.
The good news is that we have acquired the two artefacts. The sad news is that they are currently sitting in Montreal at the Logistics Museum and we’re responsible to freight them out to Vancouver. The estimated cost is $15,000.00 to ship both items (est. 67,800 Lbs!) and were looking for supporters to chip in a few dollars. In return, you will receive a Canada Revenue Charitable tax receipt and your name recorded as a key supporter of this venture. We already have $1,000.00!
