The Armoury for 15th Field Brigade, Canadian Artillery was approved in 1931.
The property at 2025 West 11th Avenue was owned by Mary Dinsmore. Mary was the wife of John Dinsmore who owned Dinsmore Island in the Fraser River at one time. If you drive from the airport to Richmond you might pass over the Dinsmore Bridge where the island used to be located. The island was purchased by the Vancouver Airport and the stretch of water between Sea Island and Dinsmore Island was filled in. Mary's house at 2025 West 11th Avenue was relocated and may still be standing somewhere in Vancouver!
Mary Dinsmore had a son, Garnet Irvine Dinsmore, who served in the Foresty Corps in the First World War, moved to California afterwards and served in US Army Communications during the Second World War.
