In the news The Vancouver Sun printed a list of Reserve unit activities that includes 15th Field Regiment at the Blair Range (this would be in North Vancouver), dry deployments in the University area and "firing at Steveston with live explosives and smoke shells". Training also included Officers doing compass and director training at Locarno Beach while the basic training battery was busy with foot, arm and rifle drill. The 102nd Coast Regiment provided the headlines of the story by putting in a week of training with the 5th Coast Regiment under the guidance of the Canadian Artillery School staff on Vancouver Island. "Plenty of firing was done". Check out the stories in the 1950 Yearbook.
