The Centennial Birthday Party brought a lot of new pictures, names and stories for the website. The pictures from 1964 came from Warrant Officer (Retired) Clay Harmon. He now lives in Kamloops and came down with his brother Warrant Officer (retired) Darwin Harmon. The family artillery connection includes another two brothers Warrant officer (Retired) Brian Harmon and Sergeant (Retired) Terry Harmon. That's quite a family tradition and you can round it off with his father Gunner Orville Harmon, who was torpedoed on his way to OP HUSKY and fought through Italy and then over to France and Germany. Quite the adventure!
Back to 85 Battery in Ladner.... On parade, working on their vehicles and on their M1A1 155mm Howitzer. Check out the other photos here. |
